Manila BBQ started as a small Filipino restaurant where Filipinos can get a taste of home. Over the years, a shift in demand for Philippines based goods started to emerge as influx of Filipino immigrants dominate Vancouver in the 1990s. It pivoted to become a Filipino grocery store and later added money remittance service to send money back home. Manila BBQ became synonymous with money remittance even up to this day.
On its 11 year, despite the challenging times, Manila BBQ New West moved to a bigger and better location in late 2020. With new location, it was decided it needed a new name to reflect the store’s purpose, it is now known as Manila BBQ SuperMart. We want our store to cater not only to Filipinos, but to everyone as well. You will see the bright banner on 615 12th St. New Westminster.
Money remittance is still going strong with fast and reliable services from Metro Remittance, RIA, BDO/Atin Ito and Vigo by Western Union. We can send not only to the Philippines but to other countries as well. We got regulars from Mexico, Africa and Europe.
Our new location offers tons of choices. We still carry your favorite Filipino snacks and goodies. We’ve also added more Asian products from Korea, Vietnam, China and Taiwan. We got some products from Mexico and Brazil as well. We’ve expanded our product lineup to include daily staples such as eggs, milk, bread, sugar, spices and salt.
Have you seen a wall of famous Filipino chips? We got them full stocked and ready for your party needs. Are you craving for some red hotdogs? How about fishball and sisig? Are you feeling adventurous and always wanted to try balut? We have a big freezer full of bangus (milkfish). All the possible combination of bangus, we have them. We have them marinated, not marinated, smoked or not, stuffed (relyeno), as a whole, in pieces.
It is always the owners and staff’s commitment to give you an excellent service or at least a satisfactory service every visit.
